Anza's history started on a modest scale when Bernt and Åke Damberg established a small paintbrush company in 1946. The company was immediately successful, and moved to larger premises already after just one year. A further 25 years later, the premises had become too small again and the company moved to Tallvägen in Bankeryd where, after four extensions, we still have our head office and production.
It goes without saying that Anza has developed many products over the years – often via our end-customers. Both professional painters and DIYs have always given us new and valuable insight into painting tools – which has subsequently been extremely useful for our product development.
Our interest in technology and innovation has also carried us forward. For example, we started to manufacture rollers already in 1960, and in the middle of the 60s entered into our first cooperation agreement with industrial designers – which was unique at the time. We have received the Excellent Swedish Design award twice. A few years ago, we presented our first range of clothing for professional painters – Anza Paintwear.
Anza has grown rapidly, both organically and through acquisitions. The Group currently includes Perfect (Sweden), Spekter (Denmark) and Hamilton Acorn (UK). We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Norwegian Jordan Group since 1979.
Today, Anza is leader within the painting tools sector in the Nordic Region. The principal markets are Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the United Kingdom – but our sales network covers most of the world. Anza turnover nearly SEK 450 million. In total, we employ about 250 people, of whom 140 are in Sweden.
We naturally do not only think about our own product development and growth, but also take responsibility for everyone's future. We are therefore certified for quality and the environment in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004. We also carefully control our manufacturing process, from raw materials to final delivered products. Anza is certified according to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
